To ‘Turn Bold Visions into Real-world Products & Practices,’ is the mission of SRI International- an independent, non-profit research center headquartered at Menlo Park, California, United States. Formerly known as Stanford Research Institute, SRI International separated from Stanford University in 1977 and became an independent entity. With about 2100 employees from across the world, the primal focal point of SRI Institute is Research & Development that helps laboratory experiments meet the marketplace.
SRI International has spearheaded the discovery, research, and design of cutting-edge technology in online banking, medical US and products like Siri, and has more than 4000 patents.
The many spheres which SRI International focuses on include economic development, education & learning, security & national defense, sensing & devices, energy & environmental technology, and more! As a non-profit organization, the cornerstone of SRI International is to drive actionable research that impacts society positively rather than shareholder value.
SRI International is an independent, nonprofit research center that works with clients to take the most advanced R&D from the laboratory to the marketplace. Serving government and industry, they collaborate across technical and scientific disciplines to generate real innovation and create high value for clients.

A research study to analyze the implication of stress on sleep in adolescents.
Share electronic surveys to subjects under the research study and cross-validate it with the data captured by wearable devices provided.
SRI has collected over 1700 responses and could understand the sleep patterns in adolescents.
SRI International researches to understand how stress impacts sleep in adolescents. For this purpose, they recruit subjects, verify if they met the selection criteria, and include them in their study. Using ecological momentary assessment approach, they combine the data collected from wearable devices used in the sleep-study along with that from electronic surveys. In this process, sending the survey at a pre-set time, i.e., the targeted pre-sleep period, was quintessential. SRI required a tool that shared surveys exactly at a particular time, and that too, recurrently.
SRI wanted to collect quality data and automate the process of sharing the surveys for their research, and paper surveys were no good to solve the purpose. It didn’t take much time for SRI to switch from the traditional paper surveys to an online survey platform. Most universities built their internal tools for data collection, which mostly was bug-filled, feature-deficient and time-consuming, not to mention the low efficiency that came with the high cost. And, thus they filtered through many online survey platforms and rounded in on SurveySparrow. With SurveSparrow’s recurring surveys feature, SRI was able to share engaging surveys with their participants exactly at the time they wanted and at the frequency they preferred. SRI found the conversational interface very refreshing, and the ease of use made working with the tool made things even more efficient.
SRI International wanted a survey solution that left behind the cumbersome demerits of paper questionnaires and helped them to automate & streamline their data collection process. It was difficult to get good response rates for paper surveys and SurveySparrow’s conversational interface coupled with the customization abilities helped SRI Institute achieve what they wanted. The timely-support helped SRI to get their requirements fine-tuned and receive quick assistance, thereby eliminating time-costing roadblocks and delays. Since timing was absolutely critical, SurveySparrow’s recurring surveys came in as a lifesaver for SRI.
SurveySparrow is pretty simple to use. We’re really happy with the recurring surveys. We liked the interfaces, the type of options, formatting, logic. And of course, over time we also liked the fact that you guys are very supportive and tune in to our requirements,
Massimiliano de Zambotti, Research Scientist, and Stephanie Claudatos, Laboratory Manager.
